School In Session...

Here we are again. Another Summer has ended, and we are in the midst of all the "back-to-school chaos". Running around, shopping for supplies, searching for the perfect outfits, and researching all the different cirriculums to find the perfect one for your child/children. But the truth is, there never will be just one cirriculum that fits all. There will never be a one-size-fits-all classroom in schools. Because our kids weren't created to be all inclusive. Each one of our kiddos was specifically designed to be exactly who they are. They were formed in the womb by our Heavenly Father ("Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you." - Jeremiah 1:5). Details, quirks, wisdom, interests, and everything in between were all intertwined by God. We stress ourselves out as parents because we just want the best for our children. There is nothing wrong with that. At all. It's when we begin to slowly push our "wants" for them over the desires God has for them. Have you ever heard that saying, "Sometimes too much of a good thing isn't always good"? Well, it's true. Although we can have our kids' best interests at heart, it's not always what the Lord may want for them. We have to be diligent in seeking God ABOVE ALL ELSE (“So above all, constantly seek God’s kingdom and his righteousness, then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly" - Matthew 6:33). Even when it comes to back-to-school season. Whatever that may look like for you and your family. Whether you send your kids to public, private, charter, or homeschool them. We should always, always pray and ask the Lord what HIS WILL is for you and your family. With all that said, CommUNITY Table was not created for homeschool-only families. This non-profit didn't form just for those who look the part or seem to have it all together. Because truth is, none of us do. We all fall short. We all miss the mark ("for we all have sinned and are in need of the glory of God. Yet through his powerful declaration of acquittal, God freely gives away his righteousness. His gift of love and favor now cascades over us, all because Jesus, the Anointed One, has liberated us from the guilt, punishment, and power of sin!" Romans 3:23-24). Yet God has given one another to help encourage, inspire, and depend on when times seem too hard to handle. CommUNITY Table is a group of imperfect people who choose to serve a perfect God. People who see a need in the community and offer what they can to fill that need, just like Jesus did. So as you continue to get your home ready for school this season, or as you continue to pray every day for your kids as they get dropped off or loaded onto the bus, remember that God is with you. He is a God of order and peace, not chaos. A God of strength, not fear. The God of hope, not doubt. Trust His process, trust the timing, and choose to believe that what He has called you to do in this season, He will lead you through it. Every step of the way.
